10th Annual Tennille BBQ Blast
Looking for something to do this weekend? You won’t have to look far…
Let your nose guide you by the smell of BBQ in the air in downtown Tennille. Let your eyes lead you by the sight of the festival atmosphere in downtown Tennille. And let your ears hear the sounds of Speakeasy Band on Friday night and a variety of entertainment on Saturday.
According to Beth Lindsey of the Tennille Downtown Development Authority, a variety of food vendors will be present at this year’s celebration. The list includes: A Family Affair, Old Henry’s BBQ, Kelly’s BBQ, Willie T’s Grill, Tropical Paradise, Q&S BBQ, Sugar House Sweets, Garden City Treats, Grace Church of Harrison, Fort’s Concessions, Glorified BBQ, Anglin Snoballs, Taste and See Cheesecakes, Milford Concessions, Rayz Concessions, Annointed New Praise, Jackson Concessions and Flav R Town.
In addition to food vendors, Pink Zebra, Best Nail Team Ever, Geppetto Leathers, and Southern Scentsy will be present.
Lindsey also reported that community partners will have booths at the BBQ Blast. Those partners include Community Health, Encompass Home, Smile Doctors, and Wellness Works.
The BBQ Blast will also appeal to children. Kids can pig out on some fun and games in the Tennille City Park with inflatable bouncy attractions and face painting.
The festivities begin on Friday, September 29 at 4 p.m. Speakeasy Band will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. to perform during the Street dance.
The BBQ Blast will continue on Saturday, September 30 in downtown Tennille. Lakina Watts from Wellness Works will start the day with a free Wellness Cardio Dance class at the Depot.
Vendors will remain in downtown Tennille on Saturday, serving great food, providing an assortment of information about services offered in the community, and a offering variety of items to purchase.
